How to make biom? -and can it be done in 6 weeks?

So I'm doing a school project and I have about 6 weeks to do it. I have to make and oral report of biom and how it can help the environment yada,yada,yada... It's for environmental science. An for theoral part, I wanted to mae biom to help explain what it is. So I was sondering... how do I make it?? And is it rally just compost with a different name?? Thanks for all the help!
