Need advice on how to approach a girl on Facebook?

We met very briefly over a year ago. I doubt she remembers me. Well, we exchanged names and had a very short conversation. She pops into my head every now and then because she was so incredibly captivating. I found her on Facebook but don't want to creep her out. I'm a nice guy, 29 years old, charming...etc. How do I go about approaching her on Facebook? I don't want it to seem like I'm stalking her. I just want to see what she's all about. Any suggestion from women/girls who have been the this situation would be great.
