I have liked this guy for some time now. I think he likes me. Please help!

There is this guy names Mitch, who lives in Columbus WI. I really like him. He is sweet and funny. And I trust him more then anyone. I think he likes me too. I was talking to him on MSN messenger and he said luv ya. and when I didn't say anything he added not in a weird way. So my question. Do you think he likes me? And should I ask him out? The only problem is I have never has much luck in the dating catogory. Most of my boy-friends have cheated on me and when I broke up with them they keep calling me and pretend to be grandfather who they know died last year. They are all in on it. So what should I do?
