I hav a bad canker sore...?

i hav a bad canker sore, my mom has said b4 that a canker sore means that a cold is coming. Well.... the swine flu has been going around at my school and since swine flu is reperitory, maybe the canker sore has something to do with it. the reason i ask is b/c i dont wanna get sick cuz its almost summer plus im working a booth at the fair!!! HELP ME!!
